Three cappuccinos

two cappuccinos
one with sugar
bayside pillow talk
written on the inner
of a dappled envelope

cinnamon of pull-apart
parading through the purple
wysteria in bloom
beneath a myriad of moons

the captain
of the recommissioned
origami boat
is folding your rsvp
into quarters

the cover band man
sings
two out of three
ain’t bad

one cappuccino
to go
“La cuenta, por favor.”

That is superb Brad. That is my favourite pome of yours by a long way. All that thinking has produced rich reward. I must try that sometime. This is a stunningly brilliant poem. Acoustically, visually, the meaning there but dressed so beautifully in careful imagery which highlights and extends the thought. And wrapped up in two becoming one, respect for structure while experimenting with it. Everything, Bravo!!!!!

was this real? I think that is what makes a good poem good… when reality, with it’s bizarre twists, tickles the mind to thinking that bit more about what it’s reading. Love it Brad.

I’m a fan of any poem that includes a reference to pop icon Meatloaf (cover band or not).

I like this poem a lot.

“the cover band man sings…” that verse sings itself. The speech marks at the end distracted me though. Maybe italics?
